Scottsdale Charros Take “Giant” Step into E-Commerce,
thanks to the expertise of VISIONN Creative Marketing
Tempe, AZ; March 6, 2007 — Since
1982, the Scottsdale Charros have organized spring training for the San Francisco
Giants at Scottsdale Stadium. And this year, Scottsdale’s goodwill ambassadors
are using a new E-Commerce platform—designed and implemented by VISIONN
Creative Marketing—to collect more revenue more efficiently at http://www.springtraining.com.
“By allowing the Charros and the general public to purchase advertising, sponsorships,
and Charro Lodge passes online, we’ve been able to increase revenue more
efficiently,” says Charro Board President, Dr. Wayne W. Botkin, Jr.
All money raised by the Charros through Spring Training and related events is given
back to the community. As one of Scottsdale’s largest philanthropic organizations,
the Charros have donated millions of dollars to charities, civic organizations,
and educational institutions. Every year, the Charros award two full scholarships
for students pursuing a degree in Education. And, since 1987, they’ve recognized
outstanding students and educators from the Scottsdale Unified School District
by hosting an annual banquet and awards program.
The Charros turned to VISIONN Creative Marketing to design and implement the new E-Commerce
platform. “We have a longstanding relationship with VISIONN, and we admire
the way they’ve enhanced our online presence,” Botkin said. “We
knew we could trust them to build a user-friendly interface that could handle
thousands of dollars worth of transactions without incident.”
VISIONN has been the Charros’ design partner since 2000. “We produce the Giants’ spring
training program, as well as other print and online projects,” says Marvin
Forte, Creative Kingpin at VISIONN. “We were really excited to work with
the Charros on this upgrade to their Web site. We appreciate the Charros’ contribution
to the community and are proud to support them in that effort.”
The new E-Commerce platform has been well received by people who love Giants baseball
and support the Charros’ philanthropic efforts. “I’ve only heard
positive things from people who’ve been using the new site,” says
Botkin. “They tell me it’s well-organized, easy-to-use, and makes
it even more of a pleasure to do business with us. That’s the kind of thing
we like to hear.”
