Agency Takes Advantage of “Mist” Opportunity
Tempe, AZ; Feb 28, 2007 — Smart design from VISIONN
Creative Marketing helped propel Phoenix-based Aeromist, Inc. to the top of the
do-it-yourself misting and fogging system market. “When Aeromist approached
us, we knew right away that they had a great product,” says Robert Smith,
Ringleader at VISIONN. “And they knew they needed great design to complete
the package.”
VISIONN’s creative thinking allowed Aeromist to impress the decision
makers at Home Depot U.S.A., Inc., which now sells Aeromist systems at 28 stores
in Hawaii, California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida.
“The stakes were so high that we really had to be prepared for our Home
Depot presentation,” says Jeff Kalpakoff, President of Aeromist. “That
meant having a well-thought-out packaging system, sales brochures, point-of-purchase
displays and other marketing materials.”
Part of VISIONN’s packaging solution for Aeromist was a clear plastic
tube for their base product, the 12 ft Copper Professional Misting System. “Aeromist
systems are the only ones made with rigid copper. It’s a huge competitive
advantage, and we wanted it to show through,” says Marvin Forte, Creative
Kingpin at VISIONN. “We also used an image of water droplets to capture
people’s attention as they walk through the aisles. The blue against Home
Depot’s standard orange really pops.”
VISIONN’s successful strategy for Aeromist also included the use of illustration,
rather than photography, to portray the company’s pumps, tubes, nozzles,
and fittings in brochures and other materials. “Hardware isn’t always
the most attractive thing in the world to photograph,” says Mr. Forte, “But
vivid illustrations make even the smallest components come to life.”
The market for misting and fogging systems is booming in warm climates, especially
where populations are exploding and there’s a need for cooling, dust control,
insect control, and dramatic landscaping effects. “Consumers insist on
luxury and quality,” says Mr. Kalpakoff. “That’s why we offer
the only do-it-yourself system made from copper and brass, the only system with
high-pressure pumps, and the only system with fogging options. We’re always
innovating and adding products based on consumer and contractor demand.”
VISIONN’s work for Aeromist also includes the company’s logo, Web
site, sales collateral, and print advertising. According to Mr. Kalpakoff, “VISIONN
keeps looking forward from a creative perspective, so we can focus on writing
orders, making sales, and innovating new products. It’s the perfect partnership.”
